How much do hair extensions cost is a question with no single number, because the total is 3 different sums added together: the hair itself, the stylist's work and the capsule bonding of the strands. A stylist quotes the whole thing at once, and the parts are invisible inside it. We make hair extensions and sell them directly, so here is the price taken apart: what you pay for, where the money really goes and where it does not, and how to work out your own total before you book a stylist.
The cost of hair extensions = hair + work + bonding
- Hair. A bundle of natural hair in the weight, length and shade you need. The biggest part of the sum.
- The stylist's work. Consultation, installing the strands, the haircut after the install. Charged per capsule or per head.
- Bonding. The bundle is divided into strands and the top of each is sealed with keratin. Done by the stylist before the install — or by us, together with the bundle.
Corrections every few months and care come on top, but they are counted separately — more on them below.
You choose all 3 parts: the stylist, the technique and who does the bonding — and the hair itself. The hair does not have to come from the stylist: you can buy it yourself, in a shop or from the maker, and bring it to the install.
Hair: the biggest part of the sum
Natural hair is sold by weight. A bundle is the hair of one donor gathered into a ponytail: in our catalog bundles weigh 60 to 140 g, most often around 100 g, and the weight of each is listed in its card. One head usually takes 1 to 2 bundles — how many exactly depends on your volume and length, which is a separate question: how many grams of hair you need for extensions.
What makes a bundle more expensive:
- Length. The longer the hair, the more each 100 g costs: donors with long hair are rarer, and the same density at 70 cm takes more grams than at 40.
- Density to the ends. In a regular bundle the longest hairs are always the fewest, so it thins toward the bottom. Double drawn is assembled from several bundles, keeping only the long hair — it is the hair of several heads, costs several times more, and we do not make it: every bundle here is 1 donor.
- Origin. Slavic hair is the most expensive natural hair there is: fine, soft, with its own natural wave, and the scarcest.
Where to buy. You can take the hair from your stylist: they will pick it and bring it, and that is convenient. You can buy it yourself — then you see what you are buying: in our catalog every card is one specific bundle with photos (most also with a video) and its exact weight, and that same bundle is the one shipped to you. Salons and stylists buy our bundles — you can buy in the same place. Any stylist who works with capsules will install hair that was not bought from them.
Not sure which bundle to take — write to us: we will pick the weight for your volume, the length and the shade from a photo. For bundles in the Krakow warehouse, coloring to your shade is free and is done before shipping.
The stylist's work: the price of the install
Hair extensions as a service are the stylist's work, and the stylist sets its price. It is usually charged per capsule or per strand, less often per head. The price of the work covers consultation and installing the strands, often a haircut so the bundle blends with your hair. It depends on the city, the technique and the number of capsules: 100 g of hair gives about 100 to 125 capsules of 0.8 to 1 g each, and how many capsules you need is the stylist's call based on your volume.
We do not install hair extensions — we only make the hair and sell it. Attaching strands to a head is a stylist's work, and any stylist with a capsule technique can do it with our bundle. In Dublin, Krakow and Oxford, our hair is applied by our partner stylists: hair extensions in Dublin, hair extensions in Krakow, hair extensions in Oxford.
Bonding: whose work it is
Bonding is preparing a bundle for the install: the hair is divided into strands and the top of each is sealed with keratin. A finished strand is a capsule. Some stylists bond the hair themselves right before the install and include it in the work; some charge for it separately. We bond a bundle to order in any technique — it is a separate paid service, ordered together with the bundle, and you come to the stylist with strands ready to go. Our bonding costs €50 per 100 g, done in Krakow before shipping; tape-ins and bio-tapes made from the bundle cost €100 per 100 g.
What else goes into the sum over a year
An install is worn until the correction — usually 2 to 3 months, while your own hair grows and the capsules move down. At the correction the strands are removed, re-bonded and installed again: if the hair is good, you pay for the work only, the bundle stays the same. Correctly bleached hair survives at least 3 corrections — a year and more of wear. If the hair did not survive the first correction, the biggest part of the sum has to be paid again. So the price of the hair is not the price of one install but of the whole year: how long hair extensions last and when you need a correction.
Care is cheap: shampoo, a mask, a soft-bristle brush. But without it even the best bundle will not make it to the third correction.
How to work out your own total
- Grams. Estimate how many grams your volume and length need — or send us a photo of your hair and we will pick it.
- Bundles. Collect those grams from bundles in the catalog. The price of each is in its card, the exact weight in the specifications.
- Work. Multiply the number of capsules by the stylist's price per capsule — or ask for a price per head.
- Bonding. By the stylist or by us, together with the bundle.
For example, 50 cm of length on hair of average density takes about 120 g: 1 bundle of 120 g or 2 of 60. Hair at the catalog price, work at about 120 capsules on the stylist's price list, bonding by the stylist or by us. The total comes together before you call the salon, and you can see exactly what you are paying for.
Frequently asked questions
How much does hair for extensions cost?
The price depends only on the length and weight of the bundle: 100 g of one length costs the same in any shade, and the price rises with length — 100 g at 70 cm costs about 1.7 times as much as at 35 cm. In our catalog a bundle weighs 60 to 140 g, usually around 100 g; the price is in the card next to the photos and the exact weight.
How much does a stylist charge to install hair extensions?
The stylist sets the price of the work: per capsule, per strand or per head. It depends on the city, the technique and the number of capsules — roughly 100 to 125 per 100 g of hair. The work is not included in the price of the hair: we make and sell the hair, the stylist installs it.
Can I buy the hair myself and bring it to my stylist?
Yes. Any stylist with a capsule technique will install a bundle that was not bought from them. You choose the bundle by its photos and weight (most also have a video), we color a bundle from the Krakow warehouse to your shade for free, and bonding can be ordered together with the bundle — you come to the stylist with strands ready to go.
The hair is the part of the price you can buy separately from the work. Start with the catalog or write to us: we will pick a bundle for your volume, length and shade from a photo.
